Get to Know: Christopher Agostino
At most conventions it is not uncommon to come across the typical lion face or even the over done butterfly mask. Being a photographer at these conventions I can tell you that I have shot my share of flowered faces and swirly abstracts. Now don't get me wrong it works, and I think thats why its done so often. These conventions even offer full classes on butterfly designs. In 2006 I was photographing the IFABAC convention in Orlando and boy did that convention offer some awesome and unique work. But just when I thought I would be photographing Butterflies all night in walks a model painted like he was about to attend a tribal ceremony out west. The models back had a parade of animals that ran up the his arms and lead to a sun burst in the center of his back. I was blown away at the story that was told on this models back. Later on the night I met artist and story teller, Christopher Agostino.
Body art with a story, thats what artist Christopher Agostino brings to the world of Face and Body Painting. Anyone who has had the opportunity to see what it is Christopher does can tell you there is more to his work than just paint. I was intrigued by Christopher's work and decided he is exactly what Skin Painters is about. Brining the Face and Body Painting community to the next level. We sent Christopher a bunch of questions that will be the format of all our Skin Painters interviews in the future so you can get to know the artist that are working in your industry. Here what Christopher has to say!

a successful working artist with clients who pay me to do the art
that I want to be doing.
to continue challenging myself in my work so that I am always
working at the forward edge of my abilities.
a company of artists that work with me, to share the adventure
and create a spirit of camaraderie that helps keep it all more fun.
spend more time with a brush in my hand painting on people from
the more mysterious part of my artist soul, and I am generating more and more
opportunities to make that wish come true.
some very funny criticisms that people have about my work, people
that just don't seem to understand what a joy it is to feel and paint like an
artist.
I am anywhere near an understanding of what is ultimately
possible within this art of painting on skin.
very few things, and those only in the middle of the night.
almost everything I experience every day.
not quite as often as I wish I could - but I am getting better
about that.
feel completely satisfied by the work I do.
find an assignment that doesn't lead me to at least one new
idea.
many things: good movies, great art, people displaying courage of
spirit.
...well, I still don't have anything that comes to me when I see
the word "hate"
to work much harder to achieve what my current artistic goals
are. Much harder.
keep better focus on those tasks that lead to the goal.
